Dear,
I hope this email finds you well and safe.
I am Luka De Ceuster, assistant producer of the Belgian film production company CZAR TV. We are currently developing a documentary series about the allied liberation from Normandy to Berlin during the second word war (in collaboration with The Liberation Route Europe). The documentary is called ’Voices of Liberation' (11 episodes) directed by Koen Mortier (BE) and will be broadcasted on Flemish and Dutch television and also on Netflix. The goal of this documentary is to tell the remarkable stories from a humane perspective more than from the classic battle/heroic perspective. To tell these stories we’re in need of documents (letters, newspapers, etc.) which will give us insights in the minds of the people who lived, fought and in the best case survived the war. Maybe you've already heard about this project?
I am contacting you since I am doing research for this series.
We came across the diary written by Rommel on this website:
https://archive.org/details/THEROMMELPAPERS/page/n501/mode/2up?q=favour
I was wondering whether it is possible to use this excerpt of the diary in our series, and whether there are certain conditions to use it?
Are there any copyright restrictions? Can you get me in touch with the right people?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Luka
